Fred Mapp
Fred is the President and CEO of Quality Service Solutions. QSS is a management consulting organization specializing in presentations, seminars and assessments for aligning information technology to business needs.

The continued introduction of new technologies and constant customer demand for real-time business value is a challenge for most business and their IT organization. Throughout these challenges, however, the one unchanging fundamental for IT leaders is the need to align IT strategies and goals with their company’s business strategies and goals. Fred shares the knowledge and expertise gained in more than 38 years of professional experience, providing information and knowledge that can address these issues. “My goal is to share insights I’ve gained in the trenches and chart a course for business that will wring maximum value from technology investments”.

Fred is not just a motivational speaker. He also provides answers to address some of the basic issues found in companies. He has seen companies, both large and small, struggle with common challenges time and time again. More often than not, these challenges are not technology problems; they are basic business issues, such as: developing effective processes; communicating organizational needs and goals; and recruiting and retaining the right team of people to attain success.

Over the years, working in executive positions at IBM, American Express, Honeywell, AMD and various other companies Fred developed and refined practices and processes and produced a Seven-Initiative strategy to help steer organizations away from the siren song of technology-for-technology’s sake. The “Seven Initiatives” outline some fundamental principles for extracting more value from IT organizations and positioning IT as a true enabler of business success. Given today’s corporate demands to produce immediate returns on IT investments, his step-by-step approach lays out the blueprint to positively impact top and bottom-line financials. He offers practical, nuts-and-bolts advice for rolling out these initiatives and help provide a starting point for you to execute and apply in the workplace.

Fred is a board member of the Austin Technology Council and a member of the Arizona Technology Council. He has served on the advisory board for the University of Texas and advisory board for the State of Texas. He was a Co-Chair of OutsourceWorld Conference 2007 and 2008. He is a member of the Arizona Technology Council and the ASBA. He is a chairperson for the Aztech Council Committee, Governors celebration on Innovation. He is a member of the Black Data Processing Associates, and he is also on advisory boards of various start up companies.
