Presentations and Seminars
My presentations and seminars have the objective to teach, motivate and provide best practices with the latest research. The presentations and seminars are not only for technocrats; they are also for business professionals who work outside of IT and want to better understand the role IT provides their organization. Topics include:
- Overview of the “Seven Initiatives” and building an IT organization that meets business needs.
- Managing growth in the “Digital Age”.
- Sharing the vision to develop objectives, strategies and metrics.
- Managing costs across the IT organization.
- Managing data center inefficiencies.
- Building your own IT organization versus outsourcing.
- Managing IT in becoming “Green”.
Assessments
QSS delivers prompt and low cost solutions to improve your business. Before you bring in a high priced consulting firm and engage in those long drawn out projects have QSS do a high level added value assessment of your IT organization, business processes, objectives, strategies and plan. We will evaluate and provide recommendations that you can implement quickly. I conduct what I call a “current-state assessment,” during which the current IT strategic plan is evaluated in the context of the company’s broader business objectives. The assessment involves people from all functions within your company and will answer the question: “Does the existing IT architecture support the business processes currently in place”?

What business problems are you trying to solve?
- Does your company expect IT’s strategy to be explicitly linked to company-wide business strategies and initiatives?
- Do your company’s top executives expect IT to continue to meet the growth of “always on technology”?
- Should the business units be accountable for realizing the (TCO) financial or operational benefits as part of the justification for IT projects?
- Does your company’s leadership expect IT to regularly measure and report on IT project’s?
- Do your company’s leaders expect IT to promote awareness of emerging technologies?
- Does your company have a well integrated plan to address data center energy costs, consumption and emissions to become “Green”?
- How efficient is your data center and do you know how much it actually costs to operate?
- Are you utilizing best practices in managing your data center?
- Outsource or not to outsource; the decision making process.
